| And interesting anime here. It's a sports anime, following boxing, which you would probably, normally, think would be boring, but this is one exciting anime. Summary - Spoiler:
When you first look at this anime, you would think its some cheap imitation of the glorious sport called boxing. The beginning scenes would seem bland due to the old and odd character designs. However, when the plot kicks in you will soon discover, one of the greatest sport animes ever made. The main character in this story is Ippo Makounochi, the son of a simple fisherman helper. All his life all he did was help his parents with heavy labor. To make things worse, he get bullied in school, but he never fights back. He thinks fighting back will only escalate the situation and he will only get beat up worse. In class, he has a crush on a girl to whom he could never build up the courage to ask out. Going along pretty much the same routine day after day, his life pretty much sucked. However, one seemingly normal day, when Ippo was being bullied like usual, Takamura a rising boxer in the middle weight division sees the situation going on. Only God knows what urged the usually careless Takamura to go down there and help him out in some way. Ippo sees Takamura dodge the amateurish punches of his bullies. One crucial thing happened to Ippo when he saw Takamura's amazing strenth. A fire started inside of him. His dormant fighting spirit has started to kindle. In this anime you will witness the power of his unstoppable fighting spirit as he becomes faced with increasingly powerful and unique individuals.
Personally, I'm really getting into this anime. I'm only on episode 11, but it's getting pretty good. I would definitely recommend it.

| ye, defenitely worth checking this anime out. Can definitely relate with the characters and theyre very likeable also, there is a nice balance between drama and comedy which keeps you coming back for more, the series just gets better and better as you keep going.
the only down side is, eventually you feel like he keeps winning too easily, like.. the odds are far too high against him to make a come-back, but he does, or the times where it takes a few minutes to countdown from 10 to 1 lol. but these are just minor flaws that are overshadowed by the awesomeness of this anime.

| Hajime no Ippo is awesome. I finished it a few weeks ago and still need to watch the OVA and the 2nd season. It's very funny and even though the boxing is exaggerated it's more fun than watching real boxing. | |

| i think it has to be said... the second season is rubbish, like seriously, once you get to the end you realise that nothing happens. u get some closure on the sort of 'side story's' from season one, but thats about it, Ippo, the main guy of the story... effectively does nothing. they better bring on a third season fast coz theres so much more to happen. | |
