| It had to be done i say, an amazing series of books deserves to be discussed and praised. So i just finished reading The Gathering Storm(5 days well spent) a few hours ago, simply amazing, been waiting so long for this to happen, its amazing watching Rand change, it was a real shame that in 800+ pages, there was no chapter outlining Elayne, but thats just nit picking. Some parts really make you tear up. The book starts off fairly... different, through the first few chapters theres like, minimal talking, which is rather strange, its like Brian Sanderdon slowly got the hang of writing the book, but it just keeps getting better and better. A few characters feel a tad different but this is to be expected with a new author, overall epic book, really leaves you on a cliff hanger. Now to wait another year... Oh, and some memorable quotes.(dont worry these arent spoilers) - Quote :
- "We live our lives by the blood of others! And those others become forgotten. What good is it if everything we know will fade? Great deeds or great tragedies, neither means anything! They will become legends, then those legends will be forgotten, then it will all start over again!"
- Quote :
- The Wheel has turned, for better or worse. And it will keep turning as lights die and forests dim, storms call and skies break. Turn it will. The Wheel is not hope, and the Wheel does not care, the Wheel simply is. But so long as it turns, folk may hope, folk may care. For with light that fades, another will eventually grow, and each storm that rages must eventually die.
and the one that means the most: - Quote :
- "At the end of time, When the many become one, the last storm shall gather its angry winds to destroy a land already dying. And at its center, the blind man shall stand upon his own grave. There he shall see again, and weep for what has been wrought"

| How dare you! My girlfriend was going to create this thread! You evil evil person you!
I believe she is on book 5 or 6? lol
I'm still on book 1 as I keep getting sidetracked, but it's a very good series. I own the first 3 books, and when i'm done with em I'll go and buy the next 3, then the next 3, and then the last 3.
Just from all the quotes she has given me from each book, and what I have read of the first book, I think it's an amazing series, worth the praise it has gotten.

i really love how much rand had grown so far throughout the series. i love the 'drama' and all the 'action'
the way it feels so real to the reader even tho its obv fantasy is amazing and i got so connected with the books that it got to the point where i would actually finish one in a day. i went thru the last 4 or 5 with no more than 2 days a piece. i was up til 4 in the am and gettin up a 6 for school. theyre simply amazing!
