Hey guys, Auron here.

It's been a while since I had an online Journal (since the original L-Factor went down) and truth be told I miss it.

I suppose I'll give a quick rundown on how things have been lately::

I'm still with my girlfriend Alex. If you read my original journal and cared to remember we had many a problem in our relationship but I'm glad to say since school ended (graduated in June) things have been MUCH better and more stable. She's done alot in the past 6-ish months to show she really wants to change and be a better girlfriend.

I finaly found a job WOOT. Its not much but I work part time at a new dollar store in down. Its a nice place, nicer then most dollar stores. I've been working there for a little over a month now, and its workin' out alright I suppose.

I'm still jammin with my buddy Zach, together (and if we get more members in the future) we are Cunning Stunts. We're a bitchin' metal band =]
Check us out at myspace.com/cunningstuntband
Quality of the recordings isn't great, and we sound alot better now, but theres always more on the way.

I suppose thats all for now. Let's find out where this new journal takes us.

GAHHH I'm so pissed off!

So, lately I haven't been getting many hours at work.
In the last two weeks I've gotten maybe 8 hours.
I went a whole week and a half without anything untill I got a last minute call to come in for a couple of hours.
Now I'm starting to get more hours, a few days a week but its still not much and I really need the money.

So I just got a call about a half hour ago from work asking to come in at 5:30.
We only have one vehicle since my dad got laid off and lost his company vehicle, and he's been unemployed for the last few months. He can't even start looking for another job until his attorny says so because my parents are fileing for bankrupcy and obviously it looks bad when you have a kushy job (my dad WAS the manager of a large dry wall supply warehous) and are trying to declare bankrupcy.
So for the last week my dad took our ONLY vehicle and is hunting/camping with my older step brother.

Which means when I got the call to go to work I didn't have a ride. I told my manager that I would try to find a ride and get back to her. So I spent the last half hour calling/texting anybody I could looking for a ride to work. I finally found one, but when I called back to work saying I could come in, they had called someone else.

DAMNIT!
*sigh*

I'm scheduled to work on wednesday and saturday which is nice, but I really could use the extra money...

Gay.

All is well!

I ended up going to work anyways.
They called again at like 5:30 and said the person who came in because I was too late was actually already scheduled and they still needed someone.
So I made it in around 6:30 and got off at 10:30.
Yay for extra money!

FINALY got home.
I was at Alex's house for thankgs giving. Had a good time. Then I stuck around to go Black Friday shopping. We just stayed up, there wasn't much point in going to sleep because we were leaving a little after 2am and I stay up later then that on most nights.

Went to Old Navy at 3, Khols at 4, then breakfast at Sheris, then Target at 5.
Holy crap Target was busy. The line just to buy your items circled around the intire inside of the store. Got some sweet deals though, and it was excited. It was my first time going Black Friday shopping.

Got back to Alex's place around 6am, then we went to bed.
I had to get up at like 11 because I had to be at work by 12:30. I work just down the road from Alex's appartment buildings so thats why I didn't just go home after shopping. I was SO tired though, I dunno if sleeping was worth it.

After work I hung out at Alex's again, and then she took me home just a little while ago.

All in all my weekend was good.
Hope everyone else enjoyed their Thanks Giving.

Today was a pretty good day.

I've been wanting a new gaming PC for quite some time, and now that I have a job and money coming in I can start buying the parts to build my own. I don't know that much about computers on my own but my buddy Tom is a computer geek and he's been teaching me alot. He's helping me figure out what to buy and he'll help me put it all together.

So about a week ago I ordered a Thermaltake V9 Black edition mid sized case (for those of you who care and know what that is) and a CPU fan from tigerdirect.com. I only bought the fan to make the order over 100 dollars, therefor making the shipping free. It would have cost like 26 dollars for shipping, which I couldn't afford along with the case which I got at a damn good deal. It's usually like 150 bucks but I got it for 80 =]=]=].

ANYWAYS, the case and the fan arrived via UPS today. We had it shipped to Tom's place to hang onto while we get more parts. I was sooo excited to see it. It's sexy =]

I can't wait for my next paycheck on friday to get more parts for it. I'll probably end up getting the motherboard or the processor next. We'll see how much I've made the last week and a half.

Hehe..building a PC piece by piece. That reminds me of my friend. He used to do that due to lack of money. Well don't worry Auron, building it is not that difficult. It's plug n play and the rule is, if it fits then it is the right slot. Installing the OS is also easier compared to the older days. You can finish everything, from hardware to software in just a few hours. Good luck!

Yeah I'm excited =]

I could have just saved my money and bought a nice computer, but doing it this way means I can get all the parts I want (within my budget) so I won't have to upgrade as often in the future. And I'm learning alot about computers this way too. Haha a couple weeks ago I couldn't have told you what the difference between DDR2 and DDR3 RAM was.

Tomorrow is payday, but I have direct depositing so I might end up getting my money tonight, I'm excited to buy my next set of parts.

I totally agree with you. Building your own PC makes you more knowledgeable about PC. In fact I learn about PC when I build my own PC back when I was in my varsity years. And that experience of building it really is priceless because from that point onwards I learn more and more.

Have fun!

Update on the PC:

Bought a motherboard and a DVD drive =] I would have bought more but I needed to save some money for christmas gifts.

I've been getting more hours at work latly though so hopefully this next paycheck will be a nice one and I can get some more good stuff for it. I still need the processor, video card, power source, hard drive, and RAM. Still have a long ways to go. Its nice though, for the first time I really feel like I'm working towards something tangible.

Other then that there hasn't really been much goin' on. Today was a boring day. My mother (who is a Jehovah's witness) wanted me to go with her to her meeting at the kingdom hall today. I managed to get out of it for like the last month or so, and I didn't have an excuse this time so I went. Plus it keeps her happy so my life is easier.

After that I just hung out at home. Its the first time in a while where I've really not done anything. I don't like it. Maybe its just one of those days. I feel super lonely.

Hah, I kinda miss school. I don't miss the school part, and I deffinately don't miss the drama, but I miss the people. Its wierd, because its not like alot of them are people I would make a point to see outside of school, but they were always there. Some people I've known since I was 13, and I haven't even really spoken to many of them since graduation.

And then I feel kinda left behind. Everyone is either doing something cool or at college or something and I'm just hangin out, workin' my minimum wage job. I would have liked to go to college but I can't afford it, and with the way things are these days the last thing I want to do is put myself into large amounts of debt so I can go to school. Maybe sometime down the road, I dunno. Zach is still in school and thats taken up alot of his time so we haven't jammed properly since summer so I feel like thats more or less done untill he can get his shit together.

I dunno. I think too much. Hah.

Once Christmas is over, and once I have my computer I plan on doing more. I'll have more money regularly since it won't all be going to parts so I'm gonna take guitar lessons again. I'd say I'm a fairly profficient player, but theres so much more I want to learn and I feel like I've plateaued on my own. And maybe I'll start saving a little money here and there towards a new guitar.

Thats enough ranting for now.

I know how you feel about your friends and not really being able to see them i went through secondary school with some great friends (fell out with one of them), now i hardly see them and i feel the same, i have my college friends but they live too far away and also it doesn't feel nice when your stuck at a college when your friends are getting offers from universitys but like you i can't entirely afford something like that.

But soon you will get past it and I'm sure your friend can find some time to jam with you sometime, and good for you on building your own computer my brother did the same, i bought mine in a store but it's still a good computer and super quiet lol.

Thanks for the kind words, RC

I think things with me and Zach are gonna be on hold for a while longer though, his dad called me today and asked me to take my half stack (large amplifier for those who don't know the term) out of their garage. It had been there since summer when we were jamming all the time but now that we aren't and its getting colder his dad wants it out, which is reasonable though it kinda sucks. I guess we'll just have to go back to using my smaller portable amp if/when we jam next. =[

PostSubject: Re: I would say "Captain's Log" but it's still taken...   I would say "Captain's Log" but it's still taken... EmptyThu Dec 10, 2009 7:00 am

Today was a pretty good day...That turned into a horrible night.

I went to work today at 12:30-5:30 and that was pretty good. Work seemed to fly by for the most part, and I'm working nearly every other day next week which is nice. About half way through work my girlfriend texted me saying her cousin Heather was pregnant. Heather is 18, married, and living with her husband Jake in his apartment in Salem. Jake is about the same age I think, 18 or 19. Jake has a pretty good job, he's like a head of security somewhere. So I think things will be ok with them.

But heres where things turned to shit. A while after I got home from work I started talking to Alex. She's always been jealous of Heather. Heather is a good girl for the most part but she's always been a bit spoiled, she's never had much trouple finding a job, she's just one of those people who pretty much gets what they want, and she can be a bit of a drama queen sometimes, but she's always been good to me for the most part.

Alex wants a baby ridiculously bad. She's taken three years of child's care classes when we were in school. She worked in our school's daycare, and now she works every day in a real daycare run out of some lady's home. Any time we've had a pregnancy scare, when we found out she wasn't pregnant, she was always sad where as I was relieved. She just barely makes rent with maybe a couple hundred dollars left over, nearly half of which goes to her phone bill that we share together (I pay for my part but her's is like 70 dollars) and the rest goes for gas and cigarettes though she's trying to quit. And yet somehow she is CONVINCED she is ready and prepared and in the pefect place to have a baby.

I have no doubt that she would be a great mother in any situation, but she's still not in the best situation. She shares an apartment with her quadraplegic mother, I still live at home with my minimum wage job and I only get around MAYBE 20 hours a week (and thats a good week if I get that much), I don't have a car, I don't have a driver's liscence (because I haven't had much access to a vehicle to drive and learn on), I don't have any education beyond highschool and my main aspirations in life are in music. Pretty much all the makings of someone who isn't prepared to havea child. Someday I would LOVE to have a child with Alex, but right now I'm neither financially or emotionaly ready to have a baby and give it everything it should have.

She has been pushing and pushing and pressuring me that we'd be fine, that we could make it work. It makes no sense to me why she wants a baby so bad. Yes we could make it work but we shouldn't have to.

The way I see it, a child can make it work, a mature adult (mature in mind and in finances) doesn't have to make anything work, it just does. I know that nobody is ever TRULY ready to have a child, but some are in better shape for it then others and I just want to make sure I can be as ready as I can to give my baby everything I think it should have, when I have one. Is that so wrong? We got in this GIANT fight tonight because she just HAS to have a baby. She's gotten so baby crazy that I'm honestly starting to worry that she might get off her birth control and tell me, or get off her birth control and have someone else knock her up. I really don't think she would go so far, but its the point that she gets so crazy the thought enters my head.

I just got out of school, I'm just now starting to earn my own money and begining on the path to make my own way through life without anyone else telling me what to do, I have ambitions and things I want to at least attempt in my life before I want to devote myself to a child. I'm just not ready. She doesn't have to like it, but she should accept it and respect it. Just because she knows how to be a great mother doesn't mean she's entitled to be one.

She says she'll compromise now and accept it and wait til I'm ready, but I just feel like things aren't the same right now and I'm not sure what to do. She just makes me feel like our relationship won't be complete until I give her a baby. For all her classes and her job, I can't help but feel like she's mature enough for a baby. I feel like she's all "awwww its a baby" and doesn't really realize how much of a pain in the ass a baby can be. She only deals with children during the day, she doesn't have to feed it all the time, get up in the middle of the night 5 times a night every night...I just don't know right now...

Update on my comp =]

The motherboard and the DVD drive arrived via UPS the other day. Just for shits and giggles we installed the DVD drive. Depending on how much money I get paid next friday I might get the processor (core 2 quad) or some comination of a hard drive, power source, and a wireless adapter to pick up my home's router. I have to spend some money on Christmas gifts for my dad and 6 year old niece as well so I doubt I'll be getting the processor this time around. We'll see. I'm excited for my paycheck though, I've been working alot more the past couple weeks so I'm excited to see how much I made.

And Alex and I are good again. She's not so baby crazy for the time being haha.

Ugh...I'm sick. Feel like crap, and I have to go to work tonight from 5:30 to 10:30...Greaaaat...The only thing making it worth it right now is knowing I'll be getting paid tomorrow night and I did ALOT of work the past couple weeks so it should be a decent amount of money. I'm looking forward to buying more computer parts. I also have to get some more Christmas gifts but I'm hoping to have enough left over to buy the power supply and hard drive. We'll see...

I just got home from seeing Avatar in 3D.

I blinked maybe three times...This is the most amazing movie I've ever seen in my life, and this is no exaggeration. James Cameron is a GENIUS. The movie was long (like two hours and fourty something minutes) but it didn't feel long, it was amazing from start to end. The 3D wasn't cheesey either. None of that "Oh my god he's pointing a stick at me LOLOL" it was more subtle, and made you feel like you were there. You could even have watched it without the 3D glasses, it just looked kinda blurry. This isn't the oldschool 3D with the paper glasses with the red and blue lenses. This is new shit, and it's epic. I'm probably gonna go see this movie again with my mom because she wants to see it haha.

I don't care WHAT you do in your life, it will NEVER be complete untill you see this movie. Even if you don't like it (which your crazy if you don't) you NEED to see this, this is film making at it's finest, and if you get the chance, shell out the extra few dollars to see it in 3D. The experience just won't be the same, it really made a difference.

By the way, update on mah PC. I got paid Thursday night, and because I had gotten so many extra hours over the last couple weeks I got paid about twice as much as my normal paychecks. I ordered my processor on Friday, intel core 2 quad 9400. I spend the rest of my money on Christmas gifts for my dad and my six year old niece, and then the Avatar tickets. I'm almost there. Just need the video card, power supply, hard drive, and RAM, which hopefully I'll be getting for Christmas so just in case that will be the last thing I buy if I have to.

GO SEE AVATAR RIGHT NOW!!!!!

I'll consider it

Honestly I have not looked at the movie the same way since someone called the blue people "Intergalactic smurfs". Now whenever I see them, I get a nice laugh

Give the movie a chance guys.

If you go in thinking its gonna be dumb or laughing about the blue aliens, your not going to enjoy it because you've already made your judgements about the movie. Its a beautiful movie. Some elements of its story aren't necesarily the most original, but they were done really well with everything else.

Oh, nonono! I didn't mean that I wouldn't give it a chance! On the contrary, I'm actually quite curious about it. I just thought it was funny, that's all!

Hey guys, hope you all had a happy Holiday!

Things have been pretty well for me.
I worked every day from last saturday to thursday, so my next paycheck will probably be enough to finish off my computer. By the way my processor arrived the other day. I left work a couple hours early on thursday though, I have a cold and it had been building until thursday and I just felt aweful. I was weak and shakey and I felt like I was gonna pass out, and my nose had been running none stop, so they let me skip out.

Christmas was great, Alex picked me up early in the morning to open gifts at her place, she got me a keyboard and mouse for my soon to be finished PC. Her mom got me two of my favorite books, the Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z, both by Max Brooks. I got lots of candy in the stocking they made for me. After hanging out there Alex took me home to get ready for my family's Christmas gathering. I got some money from my grandparents, and won two free movie tickets and a gift card for Red Robbin in our White Elephant game. I scored this year lol.

Today I went to Alex's family gathering. Everyone brought the leftovers from their Christmas dinners. We had like three hams, lots of scalloped potatoes, stuffing, the works. After that we took Alex's mom home, got her situated (she's a paraplegic with limited use of her arms) then went out to office depot where Alex got me my main gift, a 21.5 inch flat screen LCD HD computer monitor. Its amazing, its huge, and I can't wait to finish my computer so I can see it in it's full glory. After that we went to Mike and Tiffany's place. Mike is Alex's cousin and a good friend of mine, and Tiffany is Mike's girlfriend and Alex's mom's caregiver. I showed off my monitor to mike, placed some Left 4 Dead on his computer and we all chilled. After that I went home and hung out.

All in all I had a great Christmas.

I'm really not allowed to get into details, but I will say that at least for now, my life is damn near perfect.

Hope everyone had a great New Year's eve!

Hmm...For the last few days I've been feeling kind of confused and depressed. I find this a little ironic because I'm feeling this way thanks to one of the things I said made my life near perfect last week...

I'd kinda like some advice but I don't feel comfortable posting about it here because its a little explicit and there are certain people I don't need stumbling onto this...

Any Dr. Phills in the forums are welcomed to PM me if they wanna hear whats up lol

I'm no Dr. Philis, whoever he is, and I don't know how much I'd be able to help, but I'm willing to listen anytime you want. I'm like an emotional sponge, so it works with me!

I have some good and bad news:

The good news is, I finally have my new computer. I got the final parts in the mail the other day and my friend Tom (who knows much more about computers then I do) help me put it together, install windows and other softwares and the like. It's amazing. Wicked fast, looks great with my monitor, runs like a dream.

Ever since I got it set up I've been addicted to games, so far I have Prototype, Mass Effect and Dragon Age (my current addiction) and I'm in the process of downloading Fallout 3 game of the year edition. I'm in gaming heaven. And in the near future I'll probably get Modern Warfare 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam.

The bad news is, for the time being I'm no longer friends with Tom. He's the sort with a bad temper and says things he shouldn't when he gets mad. It took us nearly all day to fully set up my computer, the case was a bit of a pain to work with, and then it took forever to get all the software on it. He started bitching about how he doesn't get paid for doing stuff like this (people constantly ask him to help them with computer troubles) and was becoming more and more unpleasant as the night went on. He knew I couldn't pay him, I'm broke after paying for the computer HE convinced me to get. He helped me pick out the parts and everything.

So the next day (yesterday), I was trying to install a copy of Dragon Age he had put on a disk for me, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. He told me to figure it out and went on to be an ass about it. If he didn't wanna help me thats fine, but he left me out in the cold and basicly told me to screw off because I wasn't paying him. I eventually figured it out though =] Throughout the day we fought a few more times, he got pissy and threw a fit because I was annoyed about him being a prick over not helping me. Later on in the day he tried some half assed apology that didn't help a thing, you know, "I'm sorry I got so mad BUT..."

Needless to say things escalated again, I got mad and said some things I probably shouldn't have, he got MORE mad and said some things he REALLY shouldn't have said...And now I guess we aren't talking. I'm not that bent out of shape, he'll either get over it and we'll be fine after a while or he'll let his stubbornness lose him a friend.
