Any recommendations would be appreciated

| What kind of data do you mean? Just general storage? Movies to play in a dvd player? Burning image (.Iso and such) files to a dvd? | |

| Well, right now I want to back up some games. But many of them are zipped up as rar files so I suppose general data.
I've heard of nero but I think you have to pay for it.

Hah I didn't even think of trying to pirate it. I was just thinking of some freeware or something. I'll look around and see if I can find a good torrent for nero and give it a try. Update: So I have nero 8, and it works, but I have an issue with it. It seems like it will only burn data with a size of up to 4000mb. My blank dvd has a maximum capacity of 4.7 gb, which is bigger then 4000mb, and when I try to burn a file that exeeds 4000 mb but should still fit the disk, it tells me that the file won't fit and I can't burn it. Anyone know if there is a way to fix this? Update to the update: I think I figured it out, I guess nero is a little complicated and has like a million different ways to burn different things haha Thanks alot for the advice guys

| nero lite: http://download.cnet.com/Nero-9-Lite/3000-2646_4-10964576.html
it is the free version of nero and only has nero start smart witch is all you really need
power iso: http://download.cnet.com/PowerISO/3000-2646_4-10439118.html?tag=mncol
that is what i use, it allows you to burn, create and mount iso images. it also burns data well when you get used to how the program works
also your disc might be dvd-r meaning that it is less then 4.7gb
