FIFA World Cup

It's officially started. The first match has already begun. South Africa vs Mexico. Who's gonna win? we'll see.

What's more important is, which team is going to win the World Cup this time? Can Italy retain the cup? Will Brazil win it for the gazillion time? Will Messi lead Argentina to win the cup? Can Spain as the Euro winner win the cup for the first time? Or will it be England, the much debated team to win it? Maybe one of the African teams will write history. Can the underdogs from Asia create a miracle? German should also be the one to watch. So, whose going to win it?

i sure hope the underdogs from Asia can do good. Im personally gunning for Korea. That first game though, i really think Mexico shoulda won, creating so many chances, i was quite surprised. and lucky i didnt stay up for uruguay vs france... i think we all know why.

Agreed. I've never rooted for France and I'm glad I don't. A draw with Uruguay is a total loss for France.

That reminds me, they qualifies because of Henry's hand not foot. So, maybe they should do it again this time to win the cup.

Messi gave a good performance but obviously not good enough to beat the Nigerian goalkeeper. He had 4 or 5 chances to score goals but the keeper was in the way.

England gave away a goal to USA and thus draw the match. It was a funny and a clumsy goal

The germany v aus game, totally worth waking up at 4AM for, christ, i foresee Australia writing a book "How not to play soccer" by the 2010 Socceroo's. they got systematically dismantled by Germany, and now Australia has no chance of making it to the next round. This made my day =]

I was born as a supporter of Brazil. Keeping Brazil aside, though, I supported three more teams: Spain, France, and Germany. Spain did not lost for the last several dozen matches and never with the likes of Switzerland. They lost. Zidane said France's coach does not qualify to be a coach. Henry agreed. The coach let it become personal. He did not send Henry to the field. He pulled out Anelka. He didn't give any piece of advice in-game. France lost to Mexico. Today, the worst happened: Germany lost to Serbia.
Therefore, from now on, I support Argentina. Argentina. Yes. Go. Win the World Cup. (BEWARE: Supporters of Argentina )

England draw. Again. But with that kind of play, I don't think they get to the next round. They need to buckle up and give a hell of a show. Hopefully they do.

Yes, Germany lost. I'm no German fan so I don't really care if they lost.

Tonight we'll see Netherlands play against the Japanese. With their kamikaze spirit, we'll see how it'll happen

Spain has one more chance, and if they let it slip, i think i ll skip this world cup, am way too disappointed, this just isnt fun.

some of the ref decisions in the world cup have been absolutely pathetic, where do they find these guys, i mean seriously. a blind person in a room of knives could probably make better calls.

hahahahah...one clear mistake done by the referee was the goal by USA. They should've won the match but the referee said it was off-side. Pity USA

agree'd, italy didnt deserve that draw at all. absolutely pathetic. seriously the referee's need to be reviewed or something, the world cup is turning into an epic joke where the referee's are deciding the matches, not the players.

kaka shouldnt of been sent off also against ivory coast, i mean wow. its obvious the referee wasnt watching what happened so how can he even pull out another yellow, what a joke. even drogba was consoling kaka coz he knew it was a horrendous decision.

Portugal slammed North Korea yesterday. that's something good to hear. another thing is Spain won!!! Yeah baby!!! Go David Villa!! But what happened to Torres? Underperformed or he's been marked very tight?

I kinda hate the fact that Villa missed the penalty, totally retarded.
Overall, they did put on a good show, even though they wasted tons of chances.
They couldve easily scored 6 goals.

Shadow: USA scored during the extra time. What a luck! But i guess they deserve it as they had shown a consistent performance throughout the tournament in the group. compared to England who is still struggling. That victory causes england to face the germans in the next round. That'll be a match to watch. Who will win? We'll see but I'm rooting for England even though they performed poorly.

The final minutes of the match last night was really exciting. Why can't they play like that from the beginning of the tournament. Then they wouldn't have got into this mess.

Anyway, world cup winners, France and Italy, are gone. we'll see which team is next. Will it be England or Germany. A match to watch.

Before that, let's enjoy the game between the Brazilians against the Portuguese. Both teams are a sure to qualify to the next round regardless or the outcome of the match. having said that, the match would still be interesting. Brazil A against Brazil B, that's what the Brazilian manager said. Pity Kaka wouldn't be there. We would love to see him go against his club mate, Ronaldo.
