Nah, leave the thread here. I'd say the most you could do is change the title to something more appropriate, but heck, heat of the moment, Jake wants to spread the word so I see nothing wrong with that.

Anyway yep, L-Factor is coming back. A flaw has been identified in Vb 3.86 which is going to put a small delay on it. Security will need to be patched and the buttons still need to be uploaded.

But imo, "Oh hai" looks a damn sight sexier than a simple "L-Factor has been reborn again!" especially when that's the name of the site.

Some things are remaining the same. The gaming section has indeed changed but not by a huge amount. The old gaming section was way too big so we've chopped it down a bit and instead of having seperate forums we'll be using tags. We'll add seperate forums when activity increases.

In terms of staff, there's a post there at the moment that you'll see when you first sign up. What Ryo has said is true.

I have been assured by Ikada that the last of the RealityLapse skin will be finished off. Once that's done, a quick message to BL and we're open.

We want to get this done today and it looks highly likely this will be acomplished.

Edit: Ah yes clubs, due to the way Vbulletin has changed, your club / private member group can have a forum all to yourselves. There won't be a clubs section any more but you can have member groups where you are able to discuss things.

Must admit, the old gaming section was a bit of a minefield. Things were constantly being put in the wrong place, others were debatable as to where they belonged, etc etc. I'm now quite keen to see how this new section looks and works, even if I won't be moderating it.

That actually sounds bloody amazing. A definite improvement over a simple thread. Using N/A as an example, we'd be able to have a separate thread each time we wanted a club game, or a thread for the members list, rather than the first post of the original club thread, right?

Most likely. Old L-Fac had an immensely popular Journal section, so I don't doubt the new L-Fac will follow suit.

culture that kinda happened on the old LF. We're bringing it all together so staff are the same as members with a few more permissions. That's how I'm going to admin the site as well.

To be honest, the old LF had wayyy too many staff by the end of it. All the staff there were brilliant but there was too many people in the kitchen. This time staff will happen as demand for them increases.

"Too many cooks spoil the broth." = "Too many staff members cock up the L-Factor."

Also, is there going to be a section for just the old staff? I'd quite like an informal little chat area like the chat outlet

There won't be an ex staff section. Everyone starts from 0. Everyone is equal.

We're trying to stay away from the exclusive forum trend. if there is an exclusive forum there is strictly no post count. We want members to post on the forums for the whole world to see to make it active. Having hidden forums kinda defeats the objective.

Of course there are hidden forums, it's just in those forums posts don't count and users are encouraged to post more in the regular forums to make the place more active.
